Teaching Excellence & Achievement (TEA) Program

The Teaching Excellence & Achievement (TEA) Program is now open for applications. TEA Program is designed for the currently serving exceptional English language teachers in secondary schools in Pakistan. TEA is a six-week fully funded professional development training for English Language Teachers at a university in the United States of America. The selected candidates will have the opportunity to go to the U.S. for an academic exchange program.


The program will add to the expertise of the selected in their subject area, and polish their teaching skills and English proficiency in addition to adding to their knowledge about the United States. After the completion of the program, the TEA alumni will be able to return to Pakistan and apply for the Alumni Small Grants. The Program will enable them to be part of the Pak-US Alumni Network (PUAN). The program is fully funded and is sponsored by the Regional English Language Office (RELO) in the Embassy of the U.S. in Islamabad.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

To be eligible for the TEA Program, the candidates should be able to fulfill the following criteria.
  • Full-time secondary-level English teacher in non-profit/govt/foundation school
  • Minimum 3 years of English language teaching experience
  • Citizen and current resident of Pakistan
  • Minimum qualification of Bachelor’s degree in English/Education/equivalent
  • Proficient in English language 
  • Committed to continue teaching in Pakistan for a minimum 2 years after the completion of the program
  • Principals and/or teacher trainers are eligible to apply in case they are practicing as secondary-level English teachers as well

 REQUIRED DOCUMENTS:

  • Copy of CNIC/Passport
  • Latest academic transcript and degree
  • Service or employment letter (for government teachers only)
  • Institutional support and reference form (ISRF)
