The community solutions program is a year-long professional leadership development program designed for established community leaders trying to impact their communities positively by contributing to eliminating issues related to democracy, human rights, conflict resolution, environment, and gender. The IREX Community Solutions Program provides a four-month fellowship in the United States; during these four months, the fellows get attached to this organization for hands-on practice across the U.S. This 4-month practice provides personalized leadership coaching and training to fellows through a graduate-level leadership curriculum, followed by a six-month community project to be implemented in their home country.

In this program, the community leaders will be attached to relevant host organizations across the US for practice, gaining skills and technical expertise. The fellows will participate in the Community Leadership Institute where they will have the opportunity to learn through personalized leadership coaching and training through a graduate-level leadership curriculum, followed by a community project to be implemented in their home country. With the support of their U.S. host organizations, Community Solutions Fellows will design and plan a community development initiative/project to carry out in their home communities.

Eligibility Criteria:
- Be between the ages of 26 and 39 as of January 1, 2024
- Be a citizen of one of the eligible countries
- Not a current IREX employee or consultant, or their immediate family member
- Be living and working in your home country (individuals with refugee status working on behalf of their home community may be given special consideration)
- Have at least two years of experience working for community development, either as a full-time/part-time employee or volunteer
- Not currently be participating in an academic, training, or research program in the U.S.
- High level of proficiency in spoken and written English at the time of application (The semi-finalists will be required to submit scores of IELTS/TOFEL)
- Be available to travel to the U.S. for four months from August to December 2024
- Not be a citizen or permanent resident of the U.S. and have not applied for U.S. permanent residency within the past three years
- Be committed to returning to your home country for a minimum of two years after completing the program
